Swissbit at ISC High Performance 2023
Bronschhofen, Switzerland. May 4, 2023 – Swiss storage and security specialist Swissbit will showcase its data center application solutions at the ISC High Performance conference in Hamburg, Germany from May 21-25, 2023. The highlight on booth #K1007 will be the N4200 SSD series, which has been developed specifically for data center application profiles. Visitors to the Swissbit booth will be able to experience first-hand the efficiency gains that result from application-optimized SSDs during a joint demonstration with Infomaniak, a Swiss cloud service provider.
Swissbit's U.3 SSD N4200 offers two to five times faster constant write performance than standard data centre SSDs while maintaining low latency and high endurance over its lifetime. Where conventional SSDs lose performance, endurance, and response time over time, Swissbit takes a novel approach with the N4200. The unique firmware enables the SSD to be optimized for specific application profiles and tuned according to the performance and endurance of a customer application’s actual workload.
Workload-specific firmware configuration
In addition to the standard configuration, the Swissbit SSD allows users to select from predefined workload clusters, such as video streaming, Big Data, and machine learning. The N4200 is also capable of measuring its workload during operation. By using this data, Swissbit can offer further workload analysis as an optional extra, based on which the firmware is subsequently optimized for the requirements of the particular customer application. Swissbit developed this solution approach specifically for complex cloud applications, achieving the industry's most stable throughput and lowest latency under actual customer workloads. No host modifications are required.
The 2.5-inch N4200 SSD series is based on enterprise-grade 3D-TLC-NAND (eTLC), is backward compatible with U.2, and features a 4-lane PCIe interface compliant with PCIe 4.0 for up to 8,000 MB/s bandwidth in both directions. The SSD is available with storage capacities of 7.68 TB and 15.4 TB.
