Swissbit is further expanding its commitment to fiscalization by appointing Marco Leidl as Vice President Business Development Embedded IoT Solutions. As one of the leading suppliers of Technical Security Devices (TSE), Swissbit underlines its strategy to strengthen and grow its TSE and fiscalization business.

The Board of Directors of Swissbit AG has appointed Dr. Stefan Hofschen as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 1, 2026. Hofschen joins Swissbit from Bundesdruckerei Gruppe GmbH, where he has served as CEO since February 2018. With extensive leadership experience, proven expertise in semiconductor technology and security, and a strong growth mindset, he will play a key role in shaping the next phase of Swissbit’s development.

Sales and security expert joins from G DATA CyberDefense AG

Swissbit is strengthening its sales organization in the security segment: Hendrik Flierman has been appointed to the newly created position of Sales Director Security Solutions, effective immediately. In this strategic role, Flierman will be responsible for driving the global sales development of Swissbit’s security portfolio.

Swissbit today announced a strategic distribution partnership with Tx Systems, Inc., a trusted provider of identity and access management solutions. Under the agreement, Tx Systems will distribute Swissbit’s iShield Key 2 series to customers across the United States and Canada, enabling organizations to adopt modern, hardware-based authentication solutions with ease and confidence.

Protecting embedded and edge systems from physical attacks with plug-and-play security

Swissbit will make its debut at Black Hat USA on August 6–7, 2025, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. At booth #6025, Swissbit will showcase its unique approach to cybersecurity – protecting the often-neglected physical layer of connected systems, from IoT and industrial equipment to critical infrastructure and edge devices.

The latest addition to Swissbit’s e.MMC portfolio meets the increasing demand for ultra-small, vibration-resistant designs. The M1100 series includes two models: the M1100 with 8GB based on MLC NAND flash and the M1700 with 4GB, preconfigured in pSLC mode for maximum endurance. Swissbit has joined the Board of Directors of the FIDO Alliance, reaffirming its commitment to advancing open standards for passwordless authentication. Alexander Summerer, Head of Authentication at Swissbit, has been appointed to serve as Director on the FIDO Board. He will be supported by stand-in delegate Atreedev Banerjee, Senior Director of Business Development.
