Swissbit at it-sa 2026: Secure Access Today and in the Post-Quantum Era

Bronschhofen, Switzerland, October 6, 2026 – Swissbit will showcase the latest developments in secure digital and physical access as well as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) at it-sa 2026, taking place in Nuremberg from October 27 to 29. At the booths of its distribution partners Infinigate (booth 7-336) and ADN (booth 8-424), Swissbit will present the iShield Key 2 as well as functional PQC demonstrators. The company will also provide insights into the continued expansion of its security ecosystem.

Post-Quantum Cryptography is set to become one of the defining topics for the future of IT security – including for passkeys and FIDO security keys. The transition is about more than simply supporting new algorithms on a hardware security key. What matters is that manufacturers, platform providers, and service providers work together to ensure an interoperable transition.

Swissbit is therefore working on hybrid security keys that combine classical cryptography and existing applications with PQC-secure methods. At it-sa 2026, the company will showcase functional FIDO- and PKI-based PQC demonstrators. Further details on future products will be announced at a later date.

One Key for Digital and Physical Access

The iShield Key 2 will once again be at the center of Swissbit’s presence at the show. It combines phishing-resistant authentication with physical access control, bringing digital and physical access together in a single FIDO security key. Since its introduction, Swissbit has consistently expanded its Physical Access capabilities: In addition to MIFARE DESFire and HID Seos, the iShield Key 2 now also supports LEGIC advant and LEGIC neon.

Expanding the Security Ecosystem

Alongside its product development, Swissbit continues to expand its technology and partner ecosystem, making it easier to integrate security keys into enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management environments. One example is the collaboration with Pointsharp, which enables hardware-based authentication to be combined with centralized Identity Management and Single Sign-on.

Swissbit and Pointsharp will demonstrate what this can look like in practice at it-sa 2026. On the second day of the show, the Security Tech Talk “Secure Access Without Passwords – One Security Key for All Applications” will explore how digital and physical access can be implemented with a single security key and centralized Identity Management.
