Bronschhofen, Switzerland / Bochum, Germany, October 1, 2026 – Swissbit is further expanding its distribution network for security solutions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland: ADN Distribution GmbH is adding the iShield Key 2 to its portfolio and will make the hardware-based security key available through its strong partner network throughout the DACH region.
The partnership comes at a time when secure digital identities are becoming an increasingly important part of cloud transformation. Particularly in Microsoft environments, the migration of applications and identities to the cloud is raising the requirements for protecting user accounts and privileged access. For Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft explicitly recommends phishing-resistant authentication methods such as passkeys and FIDO2 security keys. The iShield Key 2 provides a hardware-based solution for this purpose and is compatible with Microsoft services that support FIDO2.
As a Microsoft distributor and authorized Microsoft Training Services Partner, ADN has an established network of system integrators, resellers and Managed Service Providers that implement Microsoft cloud and identity projects for their customers. By adding the iShield Key 2, ADN complements this ecosystem with phishing-resistant hardware authentication while further strengthening its portfolio in cybersecurity, Identity & Access Management and multi-factor authentication.

Phishing-resistant authentication is becoming increasingly important in cloud and security projects. With the iShield Key 2, we are adding a hardware-based FIDO2 solution to our portfolio that is designed for use with compatible Microsoft and Entra ID services. Depending on the version and existing infrastructure, the key can also be used for physical access control scenarios. This enables our partners to implement authentication and security concepts tailored to their customers’ requirements.
Digital and physical security in a single key
The iShield Key 2 was developed for professional use in enterprises and organizations. Based on the FIDO2 standard, it enables phishing-resistant hardware authentication and, depending on the version, supports additional security and identity functions.
What sets the iShield Key 2 apart is its combination of digital authentication and physical access control in a single security key. In addition to MIFARE DESFire EV3, the product family also supports HID Seos as well as LEGIC advant and LEGIC neon. This allows organizations to integrate existing physical access infrastructures and combine digital and physical access permissions on a single key. The iShield Key 2 is manufactured by Swissbit at its own production facility in Berlin, combining high quality standards and a controlled supply chain with modern hardware-based security.
The Swissbit iShield Key 2 is now available through ADN in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ADN will provide initial insights into its collaboration with Swissbit, along with further perspectives on phishing-resistant authentication in Microsoft and Entra ID environments, at the ADN Microsoft Security Summit in Düsseldorf on October 6, 2026.
