INTERSPORT relies on Swissbit's TSE solution as part of its fiscalization strategy
Rapid implementation for Cash Security Ordinance compliance
Berlin (Germany), 30. September 2020 – INTERSPORT, the leading sporting goods retail group in Germany, is relying on Swissbit's TSE solution for its ERP system INTERSYS 5.0 to implement tamper-proof recording of POS data in accordance with the German Cash Security Ordinance (KassenSichV). In August and September 2020, more than 400 POS systems at group member retail stores were equipped with the TSE solution from Swissbit, the specialist for industrial storage systems.
Time is of the essence: Retailers are required to equip their POS systems with a tamper-proof recording solution within a set schedule. Swissbit supplies the pluggable and certified TSE (BSI TR-03153-standard Technical Security Device) as a USB stick for simple and legally compliant conversion of cash registers.
Simple and fast integration
With this easy-to-implement solution, the tight timeframes can be easily met - once plugged in and integrated into the POS software, the requirements of the Cash Security Ordinance are met. The robust USB-TSE is encased in a metal housing and small enough to practically disappear in any accessible USB interface of a cash register.
"Any questions that arose during the software development phase were quickly solved together with the Swissbit team which helped us to achieve an efficient and timely realization of the TSE integration into our POS systems", said Dr. Frank Schütz, Managing Director of Siller Digital GmbH, who supports INTERSPORT as software development partner for the integration of the Swissbit TSE into the POS solution INTERSYS 5.0.
"The roll-out and conversion of on-site cash registers is also going to plan. Dealerships are provided with new POS software for installation on their POS systems. Once the Swissbit TSE has simply been plugged into the corresponding USB interface, the TSE is activated via switch - that's it! No need for technicians…", explains Rupert Armbruster, project manager at INTERSPORT.
Swissbit provides TSE solutions for almost every type of application
"Our flexible, pluggable TSE solutions enable cash register manufacturers, IT service providers and retail companies to meet the legal deadlines with ease", explains Hubertus Grobbel, Vice President Security Solutions at Swissbit.
Swissbit was the first manufacturer to receive TSE certification for storage solutions in Germany. With USB sticks, SD Memory Cards and micro SD Memory Cards from Swissbit, almost every modern POS system can be retrofitted to meet the requirements of the Cash Security Ordinance. An optional LAN solution enables the efficient retrofitting of networked POS systems. In this way, devices in different locations can be easily retrofitted to be legally compliant without any further hardware intervention at the individual cash registers. In addition to the secure fiscal memory, where the automatically signed transactions are stored, the Swissbit TSE memory solutions offer a user memory that can be freely used by POS equipment manufacturers.
